Grandma likes to cook and bowl (but not at the same time). She enjoys the company of many good neighbors, and has recently taken up driving again. She enjoys the company of friends and relatives.

Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Charles Nix live in a small town in northern Illinois. They are the parents of Jerry, Don, and Rosemary, the grandparents of Marc, David, Michael, and Megan, and the great grandparents of Ruth Anne. They’re both in their 80s, and have been quite busy in their community.

They both enjoyed playing bridge, and used to do a lot of traveling.
They enjoyed having friends over for dinner, cards, and conversation.


Since Rosemary and Don live within 100 miles, they visit with their children. Jerry even flew in from the Denver area just before Christmas, when these pictures were taken. The grandchildren all enjoy visiting their grandparents.

Grandpa enjoyed doing things around the house, was interested in photography, and used to do a lot of hunting. He was recently in the hospital for a lung problem. He was getting stronger by the week, but had more and more troubles breathing. He passed away February 16, 1998.
