Meet DON the Photographer!

Here is Don!

Don is Marc's dad and Ruth Anne's grandpa. Don is really excited about his first grandaughter!

Don lives in St. Charles, a quiet town on the Fox River near Chicago. He had been an industrial designer with the Marvin Glass toy design company - the founder invented the Etch-a-Sketch. Don was one of the people who worked on Simon, a musical game in which people have to play back
a sequence of tones.

Don now is taking classes at one of the local Junior Colleges. He has been taking numerous advanced photography classes, with pictures processed either in the college darkroom or by using computers with programs such as Adobe PhotoShop.

One of Don’s recent projects (shown in the picture) included closeup photos of intertwined fingers and toes. He had to enlarge, dodge and burn in about 14 of these black and white pictures. They were mounted and shown to the other students. He’ll be starting another class soon.

Don displays his finger pictures!

Don shows two of his Finger Closeup pictures.

THE PAINTER by Shel Silverstein

I’m the man who paints the stripes upon the zebras,
And I also paint the warts upon the toad.
And with this brush and pot
I give leopards lovely spots
And add some color to the chipmunk’s coat.

I paint the flamin’ red on Robin Redbreast,
I pour the blue on bluegills by the shore.
And when the firefly’s dim
I splash silver paint on him,
And he shines more brightly than he did before.

Jack Frost? He’s just a part-time workin’ fella,
Touch’ up the leaves and trees and things.
He’s famouser than me,
But I’m happier than he,
‘Cause I paint the ones that runs - and flies- and sings!
